Unfortunately Metal Provider has decided to stop hosting the Pentacle home page allong with all other bands sites. As of now this mirror site will provide you the Pentacle Homepage. Please inform everyone you know about this. Sorry about this, but I was not informed about the end of metal provider and therefore I was not able to warn all of you in advance.

Recordings finished
printer friendly

We have returned from mixing the album. Everything went pretty fast and the endresult is heavy!!! A very big progression compared to the rough-mix, but we dind't expected less. From this point we would like to thank Marc ter Braake for his excellent work! You made it all possible!
For those interested in the mixing-process, check out the studio-report here. I hope you'll enjoy it.

Pre recordings finished
printer friendly

We've done it! After a very intense week of recording we made it home. And proud we are! The result is better than we had expected it to be. In about two weeks we're going to mix the album, but this rough mix sounds already very promising. The songs are full of aggression and power. The essence of the material truly comes to life now. No shitty tapes anymore...this is the real thing! As I said before I wanted to write down some words concering the recording. This happened and you can find it here. I know, it contains many titles, but maybe this way you already get used to our songs. Take a read. I must not forget we do have a name for the album as well. Here it is:

"Under the Black Cross"

That's it going to be!!! Well, I hope you enjoy the report. Take care and 'till soon!

Update new album
printer friendly

Hello maniacs!!!

The last weeks have been pretty hectic. We're very busy with the preparations for the upcoming album, which is going to be recorded in a few weeks. The work is heavy and intense, but we're looking forward to enter the studio to record our new songs. These are the ones being nominated (...):

- Into the Fiery Jaws
- Raise the White Ensign!
- March of the Cambletown (instrumental)
- A Devil's Shooting Gallery
- The Utmost Desolation
- (Storming through) a Hail of Steel
- The Last Fight (ML 306's Stand)
- Awaiting the Blast of Death
- Blast them from the Sky
- Untitled track

8 tracks are going to be featured on the album, while the 2 others are scheduled for a 7" which is going to be released some months after the album. The vinyl version will be released with a gatefold cover and when it'll look as promising as Costa's latest release, the Messiah demos on vinyl, it's going to be very noble. As usual, the PD version will be accompanied with such a cover too. I'm thinking about doing some kind of studio report for the site, but I have to see how to manage it. I guess it would be interesting for you to read a bit about the recording sessions, right? I hope it'll work out, as time in the studio is always short. Let's hope it will. Well, that's all for now. Wish us good luck for the studio and we'll let you know as soon as possible how it was!

New guestbook
printer friendly

As some of you might have noticed, I've been tracking the Pentacle website Net-Stats. This is done to find out how many people visit our site and which bands, labels and zines have linked Pentacle. We thank all those bands, labels and zines for doing so. In return I have updated our links section and added all the sites who reffered to Pentacle.

The guestbook has been changed. The previous one had to much downtime and suddenly they changed the language to Polish. I and 99% of the vistitors of this site don't understand Polish so I changed it to another guestbook. All previous entries have been transfered. Sign the guestbook

In memory of....
printer friendly

It is witching hour…

Total silence. I sit here in my living room with 7 black candles illuminating the scenery. I feel strange. Someone who’s dear to me passed away last Monday. Never met the poor guy nor did I have any personal contact with him, but his music was (and still is) pure magic.

Yes, the one who died is Quorthon. The tall guy who was responsible for creating such marvelous records as “ Under the Sign of the Black Mark”, “ Hammerheart”, “The Return…”, “Blood, Fire, Death” and many more. I guess you know them all. At the young age of 39 Quorthon passed away in his apartment in Stockholm, Sweden.

When I first heard the news from my friend Costa I couldn’t believe it. More and more websites were mentioning the terrible news, yet still I didn’t and couldn’t accept it as the truth. ‘Till yesterday. Both the websites bathory.se and Black Mark published a photo and the lyrics to the song “Hammerheart” in memory of Quorthon. That was it… It was over now.

I’ve seen many people die and often it didn’t really affect me that much. I don’t know why, but this time it was different. Quorthon, who’s records helped me through hard times and always gave me the right energy at the right moment was no more. At that moment I felt very depressed. It felt like having lost a friend or an ally. Another icon of our beloved metal scene was gone.

Yes, I know. Only Death is real, right? A quote from a band Quorthon never enjoyed. Death and life are connected like night and day. There’s no way around it. Everybody has to go… somehow, sometime and somewhere. But why so soon, why now? No one will answer my question. Nor the wind, earth, sea or fire can give me the knowledge. I am just a mere mortal, ha…so I have to deal with it. Will there be “The Return…”? I don’t think so. It is an interesting tale, but this is the real thing.

Quorthon, we never met each other, but I want to tell you this. I hail you for making it possible to embrace such an entity as Bathory with my whole heart. Thank you for the enrichment of my life. It was truly worth every second listing to your creations. The golden walls of heaven may be yours and the goat…well, may it watch over your dedicated disciples. They’ll keep you in an utmost respected memory…

So, it is time to blow out the 7 candles…of Doom!

Hail the hordes!!!

Important Pentacle news!
printer friendly

Important Pentacle news! The upcoming album will be released through the German label Iron Pegasus Records. Some people already expected this, but now it is official. We’re happy to work with Costa again. As some of you know he already released our split 10” with Desaster some years ago. He also arranged the booklet for the “Ancient Death” MLP. Each time it was a pleasure to work with him. He is 100% dedicated to the scene and has released many outstanding albums of bands like Desaster, Zemial, Hadez, Mortuary Drape, Sadistic Intent, Beherit, Sabbat and many more. We are truly convinced we have found the right label for our Metal madness! The cooperation with Iron Pegasus Records will have the positive outcome of three formats of the new album: CD, limited LP and limited PD.

Again, Harrow Productions in Losser (The Netherlands) has been chosen as recording studio. The recordings will take place in September and October. We hope to record 10 or 11 new songs.

Former Order From Chaos- and current Ares Kingdom-guitarist Chuck Keller has contributed a track which will be featured on the new album. You can expect something a bit different from the normal Pentacle material, but be aware this song is not a filler! It will give the album an extra impulse of old school energy. Thanks in advance for the great song, Chuck!

Manuel Tinnemans, who was also responsible for the covers of “…Rides the Moonstorm”, “Ancient Death” and the upcoming “Archaic Undead Fury” split with Blood Storm, will again take care of the artwork. He has promised us a masterpiece! We didn’t expect anything else…

For the tape maniacs among you, we have some copies of “…Rides the Moonstorm” available for you again. This release was made possible through Witchhammer Productions from Thailand. Check the merchandise.

Updates concerning our upcoming releases
printer friendly

And the deed has been done... Many hails are going out to the people involved in our last gig with Mortem. You maniacs from Germany, Spain, USA and of course the proud bangers from Holland made it happen again!!! Thanks for supporting us and keeping the flame alive! You truely rule! As before we would like to thank Mortem for their great gig. Although playing as a trio you guys raged supreme! Next time we are going to do "Zombie Ritual" together! Death reigns supreme! Respect to a band with real dedication towards Death Metal, the ancient way!!! Stick together and get us some new material!!!

Here are some updates concerning our upcoming releases. The last news related to the Necrovore I received was that only Throneum and Pentacle actually have recorded their coverversions. Thornspawn is now recording "Mutilated Death", while Abominator, Blood Storm and Morbosidad still have to enter the studio. Still no news about Headhunter D.C. It seems even Immolation was being mentioned to record a version of "Slaughtered Remains", but I don't if this will work out. Should be great of course.

The split 10" with Blood Storm is progressing though. The posters are ready and have been sent to the Metal War headquaters. The actual pressing should start this week and the vinyl sound be ready in 3 weeks. Let's hope it'll work out!
